The Texas Tornados will headline a FREE, outdoor concert on The Lone Star Plaza of The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum on March 17 at 1 p.m. The concert marks the opening of the new, special exhibit, Texas Music Roadtrip.

Cine Las Americas have been hard at work preparing the 15th edition of the Cine Las Americas International Film Festival, scheduled for April 24 - 29.
Soon, you will learn some of the details of this year's festival program, but in the meantime, the public is invited to a very special sneak preview of the animated film 'CHICO Y RITA,' directed by Oscar®-winning director Fernando Trueba (Belle Epoque, Calle 54) and Spain's legendary illustrator Javier Mariscal.
'CHICO y RITA' brings to life the arts and sensibilities of Caribbean jazz artists at home and abroad prior to the Cuban Revolution, and is currently nominated for an Academy Award for best animated feature. Once again, Cine Las Americas has the opportunity to offer you an exclusive sneak preview on February 29th at 8pm at the Metropolitan Theater before the film opens theatrically in Austin on March 2nd.

Mexican Literature in Cinema Series starts October 19th
'Rosa Blanca' is the first of five films to be shown at the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center starting October 19th. The series of films will be in the Black Box Theater and are open to the public at no charge.
This black and white film is in Spanish with English sub-titles and is by director Roberto Gavaldon, based on the novel by Bruno Traven.

Carmen Marron's debut film 'Go For It' in theaters
The film 'Go For It!' had it's theatrical release across the U. S. on May 13th and it continues in many cities for the second week in a row. The film was screened in Austin during the Cine las Americas International Film Festival and was well received.
